Improving web accessibility is currently a work in progress.

This is an accessibility statement from (De)serving Life for this website at https://de-serving.org.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website https://de-serving.org is only partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of our website, there are some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations:

  • Images used in the design and within content: Images lack text alternatives because of lack of resources within the team. We are working on the descriptions as you read this.
  • Text color: Some heading and paragraph text color does not have enough color because in the website design we were trying to stay consistent with our logo colors. We are updating the color combinations to achieve AAA contrast ratings.

Formal complaints

We are currently updating our website design to make it as accessible as possible to all users and to comply with set guidelines and laws of United States. We apologize for any inconvenience. In the meantime, we are open to feedback and complaints - please email them to info@de-serving.org. We will work towards resolving all accessibility issues at the earliest.
