(De)serving Life seeks to empower incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals through legal and reentry services and build bridges for people to go from serving life to living it. We represent clients sentenced to life and long prison sentences in New Mexico. As a nontraditional legal organization, we provide pro bono legal and reentry services focused on healing from harm. Our work includes assisting clients navigating New Mexico’s discretionary parole process, supporting clients’ reentry needs, conducting community legal trainings, and advocating for parole reform.
